BOB RUSSELL
Bob began training in Martial Arts at the age of 12 in Scotland practicing Shukokai Karate, which he continued until he joined the RAF at the age of 18. Bob also practiced Aikido and Tai Chi for a short while.
It was while serving in the RAF for 22 years that Bob started his journey in Tae Kwon-Do in October 1996 under Master Richie Saunders in Chester, continuing through to 1st Dan black belt. Bob is currently a 4th Dan black belt with over 20 years’ experience in the art.
Bob joined Lytham Tae Kwon-Do when it first opened in 2002 as a Black Belt and has been instructing and coaching since day one. Bob was responsible for introducing the competitive side of Tae Kwon-Do to the club, being an active coach who continues to encourage student participation.

DIANNE RUSSELL
Dianne’s Martial Arts journey began with Judo in Preston when she was just 9 year’s old. This was followed by Shotokan Karate in her teens, then Wado-Ryu Karate in her twenties.
In her late 20’s Dianne had a horse riding accident in which she suffered a fractured spine and had a long road to recovery with months in hospital, weeks in a metal brace and time in a wheelchair. Dianne had to learn how to walk again but was driven on by the ambition to one day achieve her black belt.
Dianne was one of the first students through the door when Mr. Anthony Brocklehurst opened Lytham Tae Kwon-Do in 2002 and was the first student to achieve Black Belt status with the club. When Mr. Brocklehurst retired it was a natural progression for Dianne and Bob to take ownership of the club and take it from strength to strength.
Dianne is a keen coach and competitor, previous English, Welsh and European bronze medallist and current North Wales Champion 2017 in both sparring and patterns. Dianne has also competed in and umpired at several World Championships.
Dianne is currently a 3rd Dan black belt, a fully qualified BTC & TAGB Tae Kwon-Do Instructor, Umpire, Referee and First Aider with full DBS clearance and professional indemnity insurance.
Dianne has achieved the BTC Schools Teaching Qualification which now qualifies her to teach Tae Kwon-Do in schools as part of the Physical Education Programme at all levels.
Bob and Dianne have attended the BTC Safeguarding/TTL Training Programme and are qualified Welfare Officers, accredited by the BTC and NSPCC.
